Whole profiles
Download All Pins From a Pinterest Profile
Sometimes one board isn't enough. You want everything: every pin on a profile, all at once. Paste the profile link into PinBoard and it saves the lot to a folder on your computer.
Board, section or whole profile?
PinBoard works out what you want from the link you paste:
- A board link loads that board, including the pins in its sections.
- A section link loads just that section. More in the sections guide.
- A profile link loads every pin on the profile, across all of its boards.
So if you'd otherwise download twenty boards one at a time, paste the profile link once instead.
How to download every pin from a profile
Open the profile on Pinterest in your browser and copy the address. It's simply pinterest.com followed by the username. In the Pinterest app, open the profile, tap the share button and copy the link.
Open PinBoard, paste the link and click Load Board. PinBoard goes through the profile and counts the images, GIFs and videos it finds.
Download everything in one click, or pick just the pins you want from the grid. Each board lands in its own folder, named after the account and the board, so a whole profile stays tidy.
What gets saved
- Images at the highest resolution Pinterest has, not the small copies the feed shows. See full-size images.
- GIFs as real, moving .gif files.
- Videos as normal MP4 files, with sound, that play on any computer or phone.
- Carousel pins with every slide, not just the first. See carousel pins.
Run it again later and PinBoard skips everything you already have, so only new pins are added. Nothing on your computer is ever deleted, even if a pin disappears from Pinterest.
Your own profile, secret boards included
Secret boards only show up for the person who owns them. To include yours, click Sign in to Pinterest inside PinBoard first. It opens Pinterest's own sign-in page, and two-step codes and captchas work as usual. Your password goes to Pinterest, never to PinBoard. Then paste your profile link and every board you can see, secret ones too, is loaded. The private boards guide has the details.
Good reasons to save a whole profile
- Leaving Pinterest. Save everything before you close your account. See deleting your account without losing your pins.
- Years of saves in one place. Recipes, outfits, home ideas and travel plans, on your own computer where you can search them.
- Starting a new account. Keep the old one's pins before you switch.
- A creator's portfolio. Keep a copy of every pin you've made yourself.
- Offline inspiration. A full reference library for when you're on a plane or the internet is down.
Saving someone else's profile
Any public profile works the same way. Only pins the owner has made public are loaded, and secret boards stay secret. The images belong to the people who made them, so keep what you download for your own inspiration and reference, and ask before you post someone else's work anywhere.
Keep it up to date automatically
With Pro, PinBoard can check your boards daily or weekly and save new pins as they appear. It runs quietly in your menu bar or system tray, only adds new pins, and never deletes anything. Set it up for the boards you care about most: the backup guide shows how.
