What's a carousel pin?
Most pins are one picture. A carousel pin is several, side by side: you swipe or click the arrows to see the next one, and small dots under it show how many there are. Brands use them for product ranges, creators for step by step tutorials, recipes and before and after shots. A carousel can mix images and videos.
Why carousels are so hard to save
- Right-click only saves what's on screen. You get the slide you're looking at, often as a small copy, and you have to repeat it for every slide.
- The videos can't be saved at all from the browser. There's no save option for them.
- Screenshots lose quality and cut off the edges, and they're one slide at a time too.
- On a board full of carousels, that's hundreds of slides by hand.
PinBoard sees each carousel for what it is and saves all of its slides, so a 6-slide tutorial comes out as 6 files, in full quality, without opening the pin.
How to download carousel pins
Carousels are saved along with everything else, so copy the link of the board they're on, or the whole profile.
Open PinBoard, paste the link and click Load Board. Carousels are counted with the images and videos on the board.
